10 Craft Ideas To Do With Wednesday Coloring Pages
Here are 10 affordable, fun, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!
10. Wednesday Braided Hair Headbands
For the little Wednesday in your life – who maybe doesn’t have the long locks of hair that the OG Wednesday has – you can make these cute braided hair headbands.
You’re going to pick a picture where her hair is both prominent and clear; you can isolate just her head down to her elbows and then copy/paste that into a paint program.
Erase her face and body so that you are left with just her hair, and resize it so that it will fit your child’s head.
Print that out onto black cardstock and cut it out.
You’re going to get a black plastic headband and glue the hairpiece to it. Wait for the glue to dry before putting it atop your kiddo’s head.
9. Journal Covers
The Addams Family, and specifically the character of Wednesday, has never been more popular, thanks to the recent Netflix show.
You can show your devotion to the program by taking a plain, boring notebook and turning it into an Addams Family-themed journal.
I recommend using a notebook that has a black cover. Pick which picture you want to use and color in the characters, then cut them out.
You’re going to glue – or Mod Podge – the cut-outs to the front (and/or back!) of the notebook, ensuring the glue is spread all the way to the edges of the cut-outs.
This is to ensure that the cut-outs don’t snag and rip.
8. Nevermore Academy Patches
You, too, can be a part of Nevermore Academy by turning my picture of the school badge into a pin-able patch.
You’ll likely want to resize the illustration to be smaller, then print it out (white cardstock would be best!) and color it in.
Draw the shield-like shape around the logo and cut it out.
Then, you can take a small safety pin and attach it to your costume or outfit.
7. Halloween Party Invitations
Wednesday is such a spooky girl, she’s perfect for inviting friends and family to your next Halloween party.
You can add the party details to one of my Wednesday pictures and print that out, flyer-style, or resize the illustration and move it to one-half of the page or a fourth of the page.
(Then you’ll just fold it so that the picture is on the front of the “card.”)
Don’t forget to include the what, where, and when, which you can add in before you print or write onto the invitations manually.
6. Puppets
For younger kids (with big imaginations), you can turn my Wednesday pictures into fun little puppets that can be used to scare up all kinds of scenarios and play.
You’ll pick characters where their full bodies are visible and print those out onto cardstock (as it’s more durable than regular computer paper).
Color them in – or have your kids color them in – and cut them out.
They can be used as paper dolls, or you can add crafting sticks to the backs so little hands have something easier to grip onto.
5. Gothic Framed Wednesday Wall Decor
Pick a spooky picture of Wednesday and color her in, plus any backdrop items you might want to use.
Mount the cut-outs onto grey cardstock and embellish with black lace doilies, black ivy drawn in with Sharpie, and anything else that seems appropriate.
Then you’re going to frame her – but not just any frame. Spray paint or paint a frame black.
Do this with multiple pictures, in multiple sizes, and you have yourself a gothic little gallery wall.
4. Halloween Window Clings
You can use simple Wednesday outlines to create Halloween window clings.
You’re going to trace the outlines with black puffy paint and wait for the paint to dry (overnight would be best).
The next day, carefully peel the puffy paint from the page and stick it to a window.
3. Halloween Tree Ornaments
You can have a decorative tree for any holiday, and I’ve got the perfect ornaments for your Halloween tree.
You’ll need clear, fillable ornaments, which you’ll stuff with black, purple, grey, etc., ribbon or lace (or both).
Then, you’ll resize the Wednesday figures you want to use, print them out onto cardstock, and color them in.
Cut them out and place them inside the ornament, facing outward, before closing it up. Top with a dark ribbon to hang on your tree.
2. Hair Accessories
You’re going to need black barrettes, headbands, and bows for this craft, so gather those supplies first.
Then, you’ll print out the characters you want to use onto shrink sheets and color them in with markers.
Cut them out and bake them, then wait for them to cool. Once they can be handled safely, you’re going to hot glue them to the hair accessories.
Just make sure you wait for the glue to totally dry before putting them in your hair!
1. Boo Basket Embellishments
Take your boo-basket to the next level with my Wednesday pictures.
(For those who don’t know, boo baskets are Halloween-themed treat baskets that are becoming more popular!)
You can use Addams Family cut-outs from cardstock or print them onto shrink sheets and bake – it is totally up to you.
If your basket has a handle, weave black ribbon and lace along it, then embellish with the Wednesday cut-outs.
You can also do this around the rim of the basket, too.
Include the cut-outs amongst the treats within, too!
